Our Ministry

Hi! We're Tim & Sherry Thomas and we have been missionaries with Awana in Wisconsin since 2006. Prior to becoming missionaries, were involved with Awana as volunteers for 25 years. It has been exciting to see God grow us in this ministry over the years.
We serve the entire state Wisconsin, our immediate ministry area is the southern portion of the state. In our area, there are currently over 100 churches using the Awana ministry to reach children, youth and families for Christ
As Awana missionaries we serve the local churches in our area, helping them effectively reach the children and families in their communities for Christ. We also train those who minister children through seminars, conferences and workshops. We train not only Awana leaders, but Awana Ministry Team Members, Sunday school teachers, youth workers, and even parents. An exciting part of our ministry is evangelizing children and adults through regional events like AwanaGamesTM, Bible Quizzing, and Awana Grand Prix. We also speak at Awana clubs, churches and provide pulpit supply. The fourth part of our ministry is promoting the Awana ministry to Bible-believing, evangelical churches throughout our area.
As our ministry has grown we have made adjustments as well. Developing a Ministry Team made up of volunteer Ministry Team Members has been a great blessing and joy. These people are trained to present Awana to inquiring churches, train leaders and to organize and run events.

Our Need

As Awana missionaries, we are responsible for raising 100% of our ministry and personal expenses from churches and people just like you. As you can see, we can not do this ministry alone. Along with Ministry Team Members we need Ministry Partners to be prayer and financial supporters. You can change lives and make a difference for children, youth and families in Wisconsin. The impact you can have is immeasurable . . . eternal. Through Awana, you can bless others with the knowledge and power of Christ, so that they may come to know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

To meet our budget we need to raise about an additional $2,000 a month. Any dollar amount is appreciated. We are looking for 20 Churches and 20 individuals to accept the challenge to support us at least $50 per month.
